Schools in the Diocese of Gary admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to the students of the schools.

They do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of educational policies, admission policies, loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

It is our policy to accept children into our school on a space-available basis according to the following priorities: St. Bridget parishioners, Catholic non-parishioners from other feeder parishes, non-Catholic siblings of children already in our school, transfer students from other Catholic schools, non-Catholics.

Parent Involvement

Parents are an integral part of the St. Bridget School Community. Quality education, we believe, must be supported by dedicated parental involvement. We urge all parents, "Don't just send your child to St. Bridget School, GET INVOLVED!". Each school family is required to participate in the SCRIP or Market Day program, Pennies from Heaven raffle and volunteer 30 hours of service to the school and/or parish.

The Home and School Association (HSA) is an organization formed to enhance the relationship between the parent and teacher and to be a vehicle of communication and support. Meetings are held every month beginning in September and all parents are encouraged to attend at least 5 of the scheduled meetings each year.

For any parent wishing to volunteer, the Diocese of Gary requires all adults working with students (chaperoning, volunteering, etc) must have a one time VIRTUS training and a limited criminal background check done each year. Parents can pick up a background check form by contacting the school office, or downloading it at: Indiana Dept. of Education web site. Parents must also give the Diocese permission to perform the background check. Download the Request For Limited Background Check/Sexual Misconduct Form. Volunteers can register for VIRTUS at the school office or online at: VIRTUS.org

Fees

K-8 Tuition
Along with parish subsidies and fund raising efforts, the tuition helps to cover the cost of your child's education, which includes the teacher's salaries. Families may choose to pay their tuition bill annually, per semester, 4 equal payments or on a monthly basis. Complete balance payments must be made prior to the close of the school year in order to enroll for the next school year. Please refer to the Financial Contract for specific terms and rates.

If you have any questions regarding these financial contracts, please call 942.6441 ext. 110 and speak to Miriam.

Registration $50
The registration fee is a non-refundable fee paid per family and must accompany the registration form. This fee is paid during the pre-registration campaign in February to guarantee enrollment for the following year. For late registrations, we do not prorate fees.

There is a $50 Graduation Fee for all 8th Grade students.

Financial Aid
The Diocese of Gary offers financial aid in February of each year. Applications are available in the parish office. A private company called Key Education Resources also has loans for K-12 education. They can be contacted at 1-800-KEY-LEND or by filling out an online application at: Key.com
